Paris was born in Verona and was son of Beatrice Gomphrey. Paris’s father passed away in a horrible riding accident, in the summer of 1575. Paris lived a wealthy and pleasurable life.
In his last days, he seemed to be the happiest man alive because he was engaged to Juliet Capulet on Monday, July 15th, 1578. He was to be wed to Juliet Capulet on Thursday, July 18th, 1578.
Unfortunately, Paris did live to hear of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet’s secret marriage.
Paris was found, along with Romeo and Juliet’s body, in the Capulet’s vault. Romeo Montague’s sword was not in its sheath, so investigators believe that Romeo and Paris fought and Paris was stabbed.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Gomphrey.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 19th, 1578, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Chapel of St. John, Verona town square.
